The City texture pack will make your Minecraft world more interesting with an urban feeling and experience. It is highly recommended for those players who want to build a modern city with skyscrapers, city landscapes, and modern homes. Furthermore, it will replace the traditional blocky features with a sleek and industrial look.

Among the other texture packs available, whether they are official or created by third-party developers, this pack gives a more familiar-looking environment instead of abstract or imaginary. You can get it on the Minecraft Marketplace for Bedrock and MCPE, but you can also get it for the Java Edition.

What Makes the City Texture Pack Different?

The City texture pack replaces every single pixel in Minecraft. Instead of the familiar pixelated blocks, it offers a smoother surface, making the gameplay more realistic. What makes it look modern is the polished appearance that closely resembles real-world objects and materials such as glass, steel, and concrete.

Knowing how it changes your world into a completely different environment, you better know if you like this kind of style or not before installing. Some players would rather go for cute or simplistic textures that are surreal or unique. However, this resource pack brings a more familiar-looking landscape that is still enjoyable.

Sniffer Transforms into a Yellow Forklift, and Ravager Becomes a Garbage Truck

Moreover, the City texture pack has been on the market for around 10 years, and there have been some updates in the graphics which are visually eye-catching. First, you will notice that the sniffer turns into a yellow forklift. It still breathes and walks though, despite having wheels. Spawning these mobs in the city will surely bring a strong urban feeling.

Another noticeable change is the Ravager. Instead of looking like a giant dog, the Ravager transforms into a garbage truck, as you can see by its blue nose, which resembles a garbage bin. Since the ravager is a hostile mob, you won’t be living with it in survival mode. Another notable mob change is Hoglin. With this pack, the Hoglin turns into an excavator. It really fits its body shape.

Zombies and Skeletons with Suits

Apart from the above mobs, you can probably notice a significant change in the screenshots. Yes, the zombies and skeletons are now dressed appropriately as they are going to work, complete with suit, tie, and pants. They really look like a part of modern-day life. It is actually possible to add some spice to your world by creating a haunted or post-apocalyptic world full of well-dressed skeletons and zombies in survival mode. Otherwise, you can still enjoy the mobs blending in the industrial city you created. For more scary zombie textures, Tissou’s Zombie texture pack is a dream.

Glass with Clear Transparency

In addition to morphing the mob’s skin, the visual aesthetic changes as well. You will no longer see bricks and cobblestones since they are now replaced by concrete and polished stones. You can also see glass blocks with real clear transparency, like in the Clear Glass texture pack. With their smooth surface, you can expect them to look so realistic when applied to windows, just like what you always see in cities and buildings.

Another atmospheric change that you can see is the color. The original Minecraft has saturated and quite colorful blocks. However, the colors of the City resource pack are less saturated and have a cooler tone. This gives you a calm and professional setting, especially if you build your villa with stone bricks and quartz, which are normally used in modern buildings.

Other blocks, such as doors, have a more modern design with a smooth surface, metallic finishing in the handle, a glass-like opening, and simple patterns. The metallic and sleek finishes make them look like they belong in a high-end office building or a modern small house.

City Texture Pack Blocks

All blocks in this pack are improved to make it in harmony with the other components in the game. For example, dirt and tree blocks look less pixelated and closer to real-life stuff. They have better-defined edges and higher-resolution texture than the original version. The wood blocks also have a smooth top layer.

Utility blocks like the cartography table have also been updated. Yes, the texture is now prettier and has better detail. The table looks sturdy with no defects. On the other hand, the crafting table looks more futuristic than ever. It looks like it is made of metal, with hand tools attached on the sides and a blueprint on top. If you like the style, take a look at the Space texture pack. Other than that, the chest is also changed now which comes in black material with silver hinges and edges.

The building blocks now feel really complex. It is a perfect suit for the inner-city area. The combination of smooth stone, metallic accents, and glass material gives the structures a good-looking and modern feeling without being too flashy to look at.

Key Considerations Before Activating the City Texture Pack

While the City texture pack has many excellent features, it is not for everyone. It may not be suitable for players who prefer a more traditional Minecraft experience. The pack’s highly clean, urban look may feel too close to reality or stylized for some people, especially if you prefer a rustic gaming world. If you are one of those players, the medieval textures of Excalibur or other packs can be the better option. However, the texture pack is only $3 and is quite interesting to try.

Another potential issue is regarding performance. If you play on a console, it may not load since it requires more space. You need to delete unused Minecraft mods or maps first before activating the City texture pack.

Conclusion

These textures and items are a great fit to the world of city life, starting from tall skyscrapers to cozy small homes. Unfortunately, this pack is not suitable for every building style and is not for fantasy fans. Although it’s cool if you like modern video games and Minecraft is with the default graphics too ugly for you.
