Although the Nintendo Entertainment System was released in 1983, there are still fans of the game console. The community therefore created the Retro NES Texture Pack for Minecraft. Once downloaded, your Minecraft will look like an old game from the 80s or 90s. As with so many texture packs, Retro NES has a new developer who continues the excellent work of its original creator. Accordingly, there is a new addition to the name “Revived”.
All textures have been created entirely by Befarrar and Knightworm, which really deserves respect. This will make every single block look different and you will find yourself in a completely new landscape. Retro NES is meant to be a homage to the old console and make you feel like you’re playing Super Mario, for example.
But don’t worry, you’ll feel comfortable right away, because the resolution is 16×16, which is the same as the default textures. You can also use an additional soundpack. But for this you need to install a Retro Sounds Add-on. Basically you do not need to download this add-on, but we recommend it. In any case, the Retro NES Texture Pack adds a really cool Minecraft old school style. One of the biggest advantages is that because of the 16x blocks and items everyone can use Retro NES and it doesn’t matter if you have a good or bad computer. All in all, the pack is a wonderful way to remind you of the limited palette of graphics available at that time.
