Minecraft 1.21.11 shaders make the Mounts of Mayhem update look way better. Mojang actually improved the graphics engine in this version. Clouds now move the same for everyone on a server. Chunks fade in smoothly instead of just popping up out of nowhere. And the sky looks different during sunrise and sunset when it rains or storms. Shaders take all of this even further. Since you’ll be riding the Nautilus through the oceans a lot in this update, a shader with good water effects is worth it. You get light rays shining through the surface, realistic waves, and the underwater world just looks so much better. The new undead mobs also look great with shader packs. Zombie horses, camel husks, and zombie nautiluses spawn at night and in dark waters. Minecraft Shaders give you real shadows and better lighting. Fighting these mobs feels way more intense when everything actually looks dark and creepy. However, shaders need more power than texture packs for 1.21.11. If your PC is older, go for a performance shader. They still look good but run on weaker hardware too. If you have a newer PC, there are shaders with raytracing.
